Centennial 28, Bakersfield 26
| The Drillers stay
at the top of the rankings was short lived. Who'll be the
next in line.

Bullard 28, Clovis West 25
| No Matt Jelmini(ankle), four starters lost
for disciplinary reasons make for a tough row to hoe for the Eagles,
but a great second half by the Knights is what did them in.
Fantastic turnaround from last year has everybody talking about the
Hollywood Knights.

The Vikings stay unbeaten at 4-0 and
spoil the party Ebahn Feathers was trying to throw
for Coach Pat Hill of the FSU Bulldogs who was at the game to scout him.
Tyler Bray, another talented sophomore QB, led the way for Kingsburg,
while AJ Castillo added some thrills for the Vikings by running back
a kickoff 85 yards to Touchdownland.

I really like this Patriot team. Lots of two
way players who
work hard and play the whole game. Mychal Kendricks is terrific
on both sides of the ball.

Fred Clark and I really liked this Miner
team this summer at some of the passing combines. Here they rolled
up another 522 yards (this time mostly on the ground) and
pitched another shutout. Yikes.

Speaking of shutouts, don't look now, but the
Tigers of Tim McDonald are now coming up with a defense to go with that
high scoring offense as Jerry Davis is getting stronger every day.

Well how bout dem Bears. Somewhere, Bobby Cox is
smiling.
From 0 and 34 to 3 and 0 is a mighty fine feeling for sure.

The Vestal Golden Bears really take it to
another old rival,
Ithaca, home of Cornell University. Excuse me for being so
happy. Vestal (NY) is my high school football team and this was our
first win of the season in four games, but remember, this was just the
first Southern Tier Conference game. Here we come again!
