BULLARD RIDES AGAIN!!

Two years ago, the Knights of Bullard High football coach, Don Arax, were in a championship game with the CIF Valley Title on the line in Division One. Last year, the Knights finished with a 2-8 record, had more than 70 points scored on them twice in blowout losses, and didn't even play in the playoffs. Anyone who would think that Bullard football would have a really long, long way back to contention in central valley football, would have to be new to this area and not know Donnie Arax. Work for this season for the feisty coach and his feisty staff, began after the final whistle last November of a 30-15 victory over rival Hoover, to end a low season on a high note.

Friday night at Chuckchansi Park, the Knights proved they are back indeed, with a solid 42-7 thumping of the Panthers of San Joaquin Memorial. Playing without injured fullback, Chris Nelson, the Knights got strong games from seniors Evan Klein at fullback, quarterback Philip Brandt, running back Clifton Rogers, along with good defensive efforts from likes of Nathaniel Moses, Terrence Gilbert, and Todd Prieto. Bullard also got outstanding play from sophomores, Dan Snelling, and our player of the game, Caleb Justice, who played well at linebacker and halfback. With one payback from last year completed (Panthers won 24-21), who's next up for the Knights? The Clovis High Cougars, who romped in the last meeting, 75-0. Game time, 7:30pm right back at Chuckchansi Park.

Our KJEO Game of the Week for Week 2 will feature a game between the Grizzlies of Central High taking on the Patriots of Hoover High School at Sunnyside Stadium.
