Edison beats Madera 47-21
Rough start for the Coyotes, as they coughed up the football TEN times,
losing possession
SEVEN times. Madera seemed to have trouble getting their Wing T offense in
motion and the football was dropping like a hot potato. Edison, on the
other hand, bolted out to a 22 point lead in the 1st period, behind the
running and passing of Jerry Davis, the running of John Tate, Marquise
Cooper, and Mike Dixon, the touchdown receptions of Relando Jefferson, and a
lightning quick 72 yard punt return by Cliff Harris. Madera came back in
the 2nd quarter behind a couple of TD passes from junior QB Nick Caraccilo,
to Albert Boldon, one good for 23 yards, and another good for 62 yards to
pull the Coyotes within 8 points, with just under 3 minutes to go in the
first half. The second half was basically all Edison with the help of the
Madera miscues, as the Tigers rolled to a 41-14 lead in the third quarter,
then coasted to the 47-21 win.
