Week 7: October 12, 2007

Other Notable Scores:

Clovis East 35, Central 14

Once again the Timberwolves of Tim Murphy are getting tougher as they head for closing time. Junior QB, Taylor Scott, in his first start, brings back memories of Westy Guill as he goes for 125 yards and a couple of TDs. Oh and Stanley Yarbrough is back and goes for another 193 yards. Oh and Paul Jimenez rushes for 105 yards. Yikes.
Bullard 16, Reedley 0

Warming up for the big game this coming week as the Knights try to stay healthy for the Tigers of Edison. The Knights played this one with the precision of an undefeated and untied, 7-0 team. Clifton Roges hurt his ankle but should be ready. Donnie Arax's charges, while not overabundant in numbers, are DEEP in talent.
Edison 39, Hoover 0

The Tigers also get in tune for the showdown. Get your tickets early. The game is at Chuckchansi, too bad it's not at McLane or Sunnyside. Anyway, the Tigers beat a tired Hoover team that has suffered through injuries. The Pats are a good team when healthy, this was just not their night.
Fresno High 27, Memorial 21

Look at the Warriors up there at the top of the NYL with a 2-0 record. Joe Ellis leads the way once again.
Dinuba 33, Kingsburg 0

OK, we knew it was going to be tough, but 33-0? Rough night for the Vikings as they fall from the unbeaten ranks. Junior Cuevas and Bladimir Cervantes lead the way for Dinuba.
Fowler 28, Strathmore 12

The Redcats stay undefeated and the Spartans lose their first, as Fowler takes control in the Southwest Sierra League. Josh Poytress once again found JP Durand for a couple of TD's and JP ran one in from 40 yards out to seal it.
Madera 48, Clovis 26

Lots of numbers on the board for the two also rans in the Tri-River AC this year. This was a good comeback for the Coyotes who lost a 28-6 lead heading into the 4th quarter to Buchanan, losing 35-28. You know both these teams, valiant through tough seasons this year, will be back strong soon. (See this year's Bullard turnaround). Like the Knights the Cougars and Coyotes are well coached and have excellent feeder programs.
