Clovis West 15, Central 12
|
An exciting second half as Central rallied
to make it
close on our KJEO TV game of the week. Matt Jelmini looked sharp
in his first game back from injury and he was just warming up. Beau
Sweeney is looking more steady every game. You just have to love the
grit of the Central High Grizzlies. They just don't give up. Both these
teams will make the CIF playoffs exciting this year.
|
Edison 45, Sanger 8
|
The Tigers looking strong as the Tim McDonald plan
comes into
focus. Jerry Davis, Rolando Jefferson, Cliff Harris, John Tate, somebody
stop me....the list goes on. True, Sanger is playing on crutches, but
this
Edison squad is getting stronger everyday.

Bullard 44, Oakland Tech 22
|
Don't know much about Oakland Tech, but the
Oakland
League is very tough. The Knights continue to roll and besides Clifton
Rogers, and their strong underclassmen, Phillip Brandt might be the best
QB in the Valley this year. Strong, steady, and versatile and a leader.
|
Tulare Union 51, Redwood 40
|
Perhaps a little dent in the armor of the two
Tulare
teams as Tulare Western gets its first loss, and Tulare gives up 40
points
to Redwood. Jontell Redmon ran for 224 yards and two TD's for the
Redskins. Still, 12 wins and now one loss between them.
|
Fresno 29, Sunnyside 28
|
Backup QB Brandon Kennel comes off the bench to
lead the
Warriors to the upset of the Wildcats. A huge victory for the purple and
gold as Sunnyside is a strong team, and the defending NYL champs.
|
Kingsburg 23, Immanuel 13
|
Another big win as the Vikings stay undefeated
at
6-0. Tyler Bray is just a soph, but he is helping make people believe
in the green and gold. Next week a tough Dinuba team and then a
showdown with Coalinga. Central Sequoia League having a good year.
|
Washington Union 32, Yosemite 21
|
Ebahn Feathers at it again, passing for
300 yards,
running for 105, and scoring two touchdowns against a good Badger team.
No wonder Pat Hill's been checking him out.
