Week 2: September 19, 2008

Other notable scores:

Edison 70, Central 27

Top ranked Edison, showed why, and how, as they beat Central, at Central, 70-27. The Tigers looked strong from head to toe, and got two long touchdowns on kick returns from Cliff Harris, one of Edison’s many stars….This week the Tigers face a tough Merced team at Chuckchansi Park and we will be televising that game on our Cocola Broadcasting network........
Clovis East over Sanger

The Timberwolves of Clovis East, put down the newspaper with the non-sense story in it, and convincingly beat a strong Sanger team in front of another great crowd at Tom Flores Stadium in Sanger. The bad news for coach Tim Murphy and the Wolves was that quarterback Taylor Scott, who directs that double wing offense with the precision of an eye surgeon, came out with an ankle injury….Hopefully he will be back soon enough........
Bullard over Clovis

Meanwhile Bullard gave Clovis High’s Cougars their 14th straight defeat, something that I have never seen here in the 35+ years I’ve been here……The Cougars did have some bright spots in the game against the powerful Knights as the boys from Barstow continue to roll........
The TRAC sure looks tough again at the top, and the big three in the CMAC do as well. We got some great games ahead of us here in the Valley this year.........

You’d have to go with Edison and Clovis East as favorites I suppose, but how are you going to count out Bullard, Buchanan, and even Clovis West?.........

Oh, one more. How about the big Los Banos win over Dos Palos this week? Not only did they tame and ride the Broncos, giving them their first win over Dos Palos in 12 games, but the Tigers put 49 points on the board in doing so.........

Have a good week huh........
